The Physics Of Sin

How bad do you think you are? are you a sinner? are you beyond redemption? how do you know? Or are you maybe actually not all bad, and maybe actually a beautiful creation? who can tell you?

Knowing conservative christian theology, i can tell you the god of the bible doesn’t think much of you! except you do what he tells you and you might be redeemable. otherwise, damnation awaits…

Jesus himself said in Matthew 5:27–28 “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But i say onto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

LUST: EP-EE-THOO-MEH’-O; from 1909 and 2372; to set the heart upon, i.e. long for (rightfully or otherwise):-covet, desire, would fain, lust(after).

It would seem that that there is no separation between the thought and the action. it would be an asumption on Jesus’ part to assume that just beacuse you have a thought, you will act upon it. just to allow for a thought to be enough to call you an adulterer. if the theological meaning of lust has such beautiful connotations, why does adultery seem sinful? how bad does Jesus think we really are?

Luke 7:20–23 “And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”

Matthew 15:19 “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”

I won’t argue that there is a lot of darkness in the human heart but, is there nothing redeemable about us? have we any semblance of goodness within?

Paul describes it thus in Romans 3:12 “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no not one.”

GOOD: KHRAY-STOT’-ACE; from 5543; usefullness, i.e. mor. excellence (in character or demeanor):-gentleness, good (-ness), kindness. this is the theological definition from the greek.

UNPROFITABLE: AKH-RI-O’-O; from 888; to render useless, i.e. spoil:-become unprofitable.

It’s important to note that this meaning for “good” is never used by Jesus in any of the four accepted gospels refering to man, god, or himself. Paul is the only one to use this particular meaning. one thing we can take away from this: Jesus never thought there was anything about humanity that was of moral excellence-and how Paul thought we really are rendered useless!

In Matthew 7:11 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts onto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

GOOD: AG-ATH-OS’; a prim. word; “good” (in any sense, often as noun):-benefit, good (-s, things), well. comp. 2570 KAL-OS’: of uncert. affin.; prop. beautiful, but chiefly (fig.) good (lit. or mor.), i.e. valuable or virtuous(for appearance or use, and thus distinguished from 18, which is prop. intrinsic):-X better, fair, good(-ly), honest, meet, well, worthy.

EVIL: PON-AY-ROS’; from a der. of 4192; hurtful , i.e. evil(prop. in effect or influence, and thus differing from 2556, which refers rather to essential character, as well as from 4550, which indicates degeneracy from original virtue).

This passage asks the question if we aren’t just purely evil, how bad are we really? i personally think that man by nature is about 35% good and 65% bad. we should take Jesus seriously about what we do with our thoughts as they could lead us to evil actions.

The inherent problem is why is it bad for man to think but not act upon a thought when the implication is that we must not have any goodness in our nature? clearly we can see from these two definitions of the theological meaning of the word “good” clearly show that even an “evil” person can do “good” just as god can.

James shows us that a physical component has to accompany the thought in order for good to even exist.

James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

If goodness has to go beyond the thought to be of any value, it’s a direct contradiction that evil doesn’t require the same! if Jesus were truly fully human as christian theology asserts, you would think Jesus would know this! a thought doesn’t directly lead to an action, and even if it does, the action isn’t necessarily evil. if Jesus is soo fully understanding in both divinity and humanity, how could he miss something soo obvious?

John 3:19 “And this is condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

In being an apostate from christianity, i can clearly discern between my thoughts and actions. i can make sure not to continue the spread of the physics of sin by causing harm to another. as a believer in my own faith of a spiritual secularist-to know that in my imagination, what i do or how i should act is not the basis of evil if i am enlightened in being-that my soul is good without god.

Jesus, you are clearly wrong!
